Improving Cooksville Parks

The City of Mississauga is expanding Cooksville Park and Iggy Kaneff Park and is seeking your feedback on the features you want to see in these parks.

How can I participate?

About the project

As part of the Cooksville Parkland Long Term Acquisition, the City has been acquiring properties for parkland in the Cooksville area to help address the parkland deficit. The 8 hectares (20 acres) of newly acquired properties will be added to Cooksville Park and Iggy Kaneff Park creating larger, more connected parkland in the Cooksville area. These two expanded parks are now ready for redevelopment.

Ongoing negotiations for acquisition of additional properties continue, which will further expand Cooksville Park, Iggy Kaneff Park as well as Cooksville Common. Future phases of redevelopment will be required as the parks continue to expand.

Your opinion matters

Through a survey, the City was seeking input to understand what features residents wanted to see prioritized in Cooksville Park and Iggy Kaneff Park. More than 530 residents provided feedback through this survey. A summary document has been prepared outlining key survey findings and next steps.

This was not your only opportunity to provide input through the City-led park planning process. There will be other opportunities to participate in the future through feedback on park designs as they evolve. To be notified of future public engagements, please be sure to click the "subscribe" button to be kept up to date on the project by email.
