Update to the Downtown Strategy

The Downtown Strategy is informed by numerous city-initiated projects that influence development in the Downtown Core. One of those projects is the Downtown Movement Plan, which will assess the proposed downtown road, transit, and pedestrian network. The Downtown Movement Plan guides what the transportation network will look like in the next several decades, and when key transportation projects will take place.

The Downtown Strategy has been on hold since Spring 2021. City staff have worked with internal departments and external stakeholders to re-framing the strategy and action plan document. We are now at a point to re-start the study, with new opportunities to participate in community engagement sessions this summer. Please check back on the project site for more details on the Downtown Strategy's work plan for the rest of 2022 and into early-2023.
