City of Mississauga staff are conducting research to better understand public sentiment on the use of fireworks in Mississauga. Information collected in the survey will be used to help inform potential amendments to the City’s existing Fireworks Licensing and Use By-law 0182-2023(External link) (also referred to as Fireworks By-law) and other related by-laws.

Fireworks in Mississauga are currently permitted on private property from dusk to 11 p.m. on Lunar New Year, Victoria Day, Canada Day and Diwali, and from dusk to 1 a.m. on New Year’s Day. Fireworks are not permitted on a public street, park or road without a City permit.
In late 2023, the City amended its regulations governing the sale and use of fireworks. The City is conducting a further review of its Fireworks By-law to determine if any changes are required. The City wants to hear your views on the use and regulation of fireworks in Mississauga.
A report will be presented to the General Committee in May 2025.

S.O. 2001, c.25 and will be used for the purposes of understanding public sentiment and opinions on the use of fireworks in the City and to help inform amendments, if required, to the City’s Fireworks and other associated by-laws.
What happens to my information? Your privacy is important to us. The survey is administered using Engagement HQ, where responses are securely collected and stored. The City of Mississauga will not sell or share your responses or any personal information. All responses are kept anonymous.
