Official Plan Review
As Mississauga continues to evolve, so does our Official Plan.
Mississauga’s Official Plan policies address important parts of city-building shape our city, including transportation, housing, culture and heritage, the environment, and the economy.
The Official Plan addresses things like:
- where housing, industry, offices, shops, and roads should go
- which services and amenities (e.g. parks, schools, transit) are needed and where they will be located
- what parts of the city will be the focus for growth and what it will look like
- what must be considered for growth and development

JSAover 3 years agoAdding more sustainable sources of energy!
Being sustainable is an important step to have a good city. We can begin using solar panels during the day to light up our houses or buildings at night, using wind to power factories, switching to electrical cars, use the water flow to make energy, etc. The possibilities are endless.
0 comment1ICover 3 years agoAdd more solar panels
Adding more solar pannels in our city is a very efficient way of taking care of the world, and our city. Solar panels will help reduce the amount of pollution, and will use natural light/energy. It is also a good thing for the planet, and our city.
0 comment4Ultralord0over 4 years agoBetter looking building roofs
The current plan has considerations for the look of building entrances and facades. It doesn’t have any requirements for the top of buildings. As the city starts building taller buildings, the roofs of the lower buildings around them should have factors to make them more appealing to look at. For example the roof of square one could use a series face lift. Goto any downtown condo and it really stands out.
0 comment2Ultralord0over 4 years agoHide cell towers
Put requirements in place to hide cell towers into surroundings to make them not visible. Or to integrate artwork into the towers when they must be visible so that they are appealing to look at.

High speed internet connectivity should be a central tenet of any future plan. In this modern digital age Fiber to the Home has become a necessity. Please ensure that we have a strong fiber network throughout the city so any future workspace or home can have access to high speed internet.
